Overview

The Tilicho Lake Trek is one of the most stunning and thrilling treks. It is located in Manang's Annapurna Circuit Region. The breathtaking glacial lake known as Tilicho Lake is 3.5 square kilometers with a 4920-meter-high Tilicho Peak.

You will get a close-up look at the Himalayas, learn about the culture of the Manangi people, see beautiful waterfalls, and stroll through the expansive Manang mountain valley, which is home to a diverse diversity of flora and fauna.

Our Tilicho Lake trekking package allows you to explore different villages within the Annapurna Circuit region. The highlight of this trek will undoubtedly be reaching Tilicho Lake. The view of the shimmering lake and the surrounding Himalayas will create a surreal experience.

Since you will go to an altitude of 4,949 meters (16,237 ft) during this trek, it is considered moderate. Slow ascents and proper care will minimize the risk of altitude sickness. Reaching Tilicho Lake will surely make you forget all the challenges that you had to adhere to during the trek.

Our Tilicho Lake 14 days trekking itinerary takes you through the routes of villages like Chame, Khangsar, Dharapani, Besisahar, Mananag, Tilicho base camp and the great Tilicho Lake. Through this trek, you will not only get stunning views but also an opportunity to interact with the local cultures and lifestyles of people.

You can go by a long time having fun on the hike to Tilicho, a high-altitude lake. The benefits of finishing this difficult hike will be immense and once-in-a-lifetime. For those who enjoy venturing outside of the typical trekking routes and into remote, less-traveled areas of Nepal, the Tilicho Lake Trek might be an excellent choice. You could learn about the traditions and cultures of other nearby communities by going on the Tilicho Lake Trek.

There are several reasons why you should do the 14 days trek to Tilicho Lake. Firstly, the route goes through culturally different villages like Manang, where you can meet people, take part in their traditions, and see historic monasteries.

Another reason you should do this trek is because you will get the opportunity to fully experience the breathtaking scenery of the Annapurna area.

This journey delivers endless scenic landscapes, with verdant valleys and tumbling rivers giving way to breathtaking snow-capped Himalayas.

This trek is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see the Annapurna mountains reflected in the turquoise waters of Tilicho Lake. Through this trek, you will also be able to experience a less crowded route compared to the Annapurna circuit. This will definitely give you a more intimate experience.

For these many reasons, the journey is considered to be one of the most amazing treks in the Annapurna region.

Best Season for Trekking to Tilicho Lake

The best time for your trekking journey to Tilicho Lake is considered to be the spring season (March until May) and the autumn season (September until November). Both of these seasons offer pleasant weather if you are planning to trek to the Himalayas in Nepal.

Spring Season

In Nepal, the spring season lasts from March all the way until May. The spring season is one of the best seasons of the year to travel to Nepal and Tilicho Lake. Due to the steady weather, lovely scenery, and moderate temperatures, trekking in this season ensures a comfortable journey.

Trekking during this season also allows you to experience the lush green forest, blossoming rhododendrons on the hills, and the charming atmosphere of nature.

Trekking the Tilicho Lake in the springtime offers breathtaking views of Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, Pisang Peak, and several other nearby mountains. In addition, the trail's gompas and monasteries, which offer a breathtaking view of the Manang Valley and Himalayan scenery, are stunning in the spring season.

During this season, the temperature ranges from 10°C to 20°C (50°F to 68°F) during the day and drops around -5°C to 5°C (23°F to 41°F) at night.

Autumn Season

In Nepal, the fall months are September, October, and November. Additionally, it is the ideal moment to travel to Nepal.

This season is ideal for trekking and other adventurous sports because of the lovely climate, steady and reasonable levels of weather and temperature, and clear skies. You can take in the breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Manaslu regions during these months.

During the 10-day trek to Tilicho Lake, the somewhat dry landscapes and breathtaking natural atmosphere are among Nepal's greatest experiences. In addition, you can also enjoy Nepal's well-known celebrations like Dashain and Tihar.

During this season, the temperature ranges from 5°C to 15°C (41°F to 59°F) during the day and drops around -10°C to 0°C (14°F to 32°F) at night.

Additional Consideration:

  • Winter (December to February): While the trek is possible with proper preparation, expect extreme cold (days: -5°C to -15°C, nights: -20°C to -30°C), heavy snowfall, and potentially closed passes.

  • Monsoon (June to August): Heavy rain, landslides, and treacherous trails make trekking during the monsoon unadvisable.
