Dolpo region is extremely isolated and the landscape is arid. It lies in the mid-western Nepal, beyond the Dhaulagiri region bounded by the Shey Phoksundo National Park. Dolpo region is mainly divided into two parts- Upper Dolpo and Lower Dolpo. Trekking is adventurous in both sections as they have various high passes that make the treks challenging. During the trek in Dolpo region, you can see the stone walled villages, monasteries, awesome mountains and pristine Lakes. People in Dolpo are highly impressed with the Bon Po culture of the Tibet. They are highly spiritual and love their traditional way of living. Even in the hidden part, there are monasteries and Chhortens. Thus, Dolpo is known as the place for meditation.
