Panch Pokhari and Jugal Himal

On the first day, as you land at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will meet our representatives. They will receive you and welcome you at the hotel and then you will be driven from the Airport to the hotel. Take proper rest, freshen yourself up, and then you can go for a stroll in the nearby area. We request the trekkers to return to the hotel by the evening for dinner and an overnight stay.

As you wake up in the hotel, get freshened up, and have your breakfast, our representatives will come to pick you up. On the second day of this trekking package, we take the trekkers to explore the traditional and cultural beauty of the Kathmandu valley. Starting from the holy Pashupatinath temple, we explore many places including Bouddhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, Patan Durbar Square, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, etc. Our guides will lead you through all of these places and also provide you with as many insights as possible throughout this day trip to Kathmandu.

In the evening, we return to the hotel for a proper dinner and overnight stay after a brief instruction session by the guides to the trekkers. In this session, the guides will lead you through the trail and all the dos and don'ts during the trekking journey.

On the third day, the trekkers will leave Kathmandu and go on a drive towards the trekking area. Our representatives will pick you up early after breakfast and then take you on a 6 to 7-hour long journey that leads towards the starting point of the Panch Pokhari and Jugal Himal Trek, Syaule. The drive will be comfortable as we will go on a tourist bus with high-leg space and comfortable seats.

Our drive stops in the middle for lunch and then we again continue on the drive finally reaching Syaule after 6 to 7 hours. As you leave Kathmandu, you can notice that the entire environment changes drastically and the settlements are comparatively lesser than in Kathmandu. Overnight stay and dinner will be arranged by us in a comfortable and hygienic hotel or guesthouse in Syaule.

Wake up early freshen yourself up, and have breakfast before our guides take you on the first walking journey of the entire Panch Pokhari and Jugal Himal Trek. On the fourth day, we set on a trail that takes us from Syaule to Kami-Kharka Danda. The route ascends from 1600 meters to 2300 meters but only requires us to walk for about 5 hours. As we start the trek early in the morning and it only takes 5 hours to reach Kami-Kharka, the trekkers will have enough time to explore the area and interact with the locals after checking in at the hotel/guesthouse and leaving their backpacks.

The journey from Syaule to Kami-Kharka is full of Mani Walls, and lush forests, along with beautifully-settled villages and such traditional lifestyle to immerse into. Not even for a second would the trekker feel like they are missing nature and natural beauty.

So, it was the day when we reached Australian Camp, which humorously was named because Austrians loved this place. Well, note that Australian Camp was named after Austrians not Australians. Austrians used to come to this place and camp earlier and they loved the place so, it was named Austrian Camp. However, as the pronunciation was quite difficult for Nepalese, they named it Australian Camp later on.

The Australian Camp is also known as Choyochyo Kharka. This section of the Panch Pokhari and Jugal Himal Trek extends through lush oak and rhododendron forest making its way to a Chorten at an altitude of 3160 meters and then finally taking the trekkers to the western slope of the Australian Camp.

As we are in the Australian Camp, trekkers will spend the night in a camp and not in any hotel or lodges. It will be a different type of adventure to sleep in the camp and have self-cooked food together.

From Australian Camp, we need to ascend even higher on the sixth day of the trekking journey. Today, the guides from Snowview Trek lead the trekkers to a beautiful village named Hille Kharka or Bhanse. Surrounded by terraced farms, traditional settlements, and cheerful people, this place is among the gems of the Panch Pokhari and Jugal Danda Trekking map. We need to walk for about 5 hours today to reach this place and the rest of the time can be utilized by the trekkers to explore the beauty of the village and interact with the locals.

We will have dinner and spend the night in a hotel or guesthouse at Hille Kharka before heading to any other destinations. Our team arranges a healthy and hygienic dinner for the trekkers so that they can recover all the energy lost while walking throughout the day.

Wake up early in the morning, have breakfast, and then the trekkers need to follow the guides in another milestone of the Panch Pokhari and Jugal Himal Trek. On this day, we ascend on a steep uphill until we reach the flat ground full of prayer flags. These flags accompany us until we finally reach Nasimpatti. This village is located at an altitude of 3615 meters and offers the best views of the Jugal Himal range.

Trekkers will only have to walk for 4 hours on this day which means that the trek won't be much challenging. Due to that reason, you will also have time and energy to explore the Nasimpatti village. Snowview Trek arranges the dinner and overnight stay in a camp for this night.

Finally, it's the day when the trekkers will reach one of the two major destinations of this trekking journey, Panch Pokhari. Just like the seventh day, the trek on the eighth day will also be fairly easy and short as we only have to walk for 4 hours. Panch Pokhari (five ponds) is considered as one of the holiest ponds for the Hindu and Buddhist devotees. If you reach Panch Pokhari in the monsoon season (June or July), you will meet a lot of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims who go there to pay homage to this religiously important site.

Other than that, the place is famous for its natural beauty as well. Pristine ponds surrounded by mountains, hills, and landscapes showcase the real amusement of nature's blessing in the Panch Pokhari area. We will set up a camp in the side of the Panch Pokhari and have dinner here before sleeping for the night.

As we are already in one of the major highlights of this trekking package, shall we not spend another day here? Of course, we should. Therefore, Snowview Trek dedicates the ninth day as a rest day in Panch Pokhari. Today, trekkers can explore the pond area, check out the natural beauty this place offers, and capture as many memories as they want. Exploring and witnessing the beauty of the five holy lakes, you will not even notice when the day ends.

We will return to the camp by the evening to have dinner and sleep for another day at Panch Pokhari.

We have one more destination to reach before returning to Kathmandu and to your home. Today, we return to Nasimpatti from Panch Pokhari which takes about 4 hours. As this will be a descending journey, trekkers do not have to waste much of their physical energy. After reaching Nasimpatti, we will set up a camp and rest for the night after having dinner.

One more day to descend in this Panch Pokhari and Jugal Himal Trek as we set off on a walk to Yarsa Kharka. Yarsa Kharka is located on the western side of Nasimpatti and we need to walk for about 6 hours on this day. However, this section of the Panch Pokhari and Jugal Himal Trek is full of exciting scenes and scenarios of the Himalayas, landscapes, and small streams. Moreover, trekkers can also descend with much much memories of Panch Pokhari. Therefore, you will not even feel much strain during this section of the journey.

After walking for 6 hours, stopping at some places for lunch and sometimes just for casual breaks, we finally reach Yarsa Kharka. Besides, the locals also call this place Ghai Kharka and this is a perfect place for camping after a 6-hour long walk.

Today. we will descend to an even lower altitude level than Kathmandu. The place's name is Yangrima Khola and it is located at an altitude of 1400 meters above sea level. Even though the altitude descent looks significantly long, it only takes 6 hours of walking to reach Yangrima Khola from Yarsa Kharka (2530 meters). This section of the trek to Panch Pokhari and Jugal Himal passes through beautiful rhododendron blossoms, oak forests, and a suspension bridge.

As we cross the suspension bridge over Panch Pokhari Khola, we need to ascend up until Hutanbrang and then again descend on the trail that follows the Larke Khola leading us to Yangrima Village. We will again set up a camp and have dinner before sleeping for the night.

After such as drastic and significant descending journey, we will have to go for an ascend journey on the thirteenth day. It might be a little difficult for the trekkers as they have been walking on downhill for a couple of days. Today, the Snowview Trek's guides will lead you to a religiously significant place named Laghang Gompa located at an altitude of 2600 meters.

We begin the journey by crossing through a suspension bridge over Larke and Yangri Khola and then passing through the Yangri village. From this village, we head forward on a path that gradually and consistently ascends and becomes steeper. Within a few hours of walking, the trekkers will be passing through traditional scattered mid-hills farm villages and terraced fields and through the forest to reach Gangkharka. From that place, the route continues we will stop for the night as we reach Laghang Gompa. It will take about 6 hours to walk on this day for the trekkers.

After having breakfast in the Laghang Gompa area, our guides will take you on another section of the Jugal Himal and Panch Pokhari Trek. Today, we will be walking to Tarke Ghyang, located at the same altitude level as Laghang Gompa. However, as the route is comparatively longer, we will have to walk for about 6 hours today as well.

Passing through green forests, we enter an area with rich pasturelands, stime-built traditional houses, and a path specially made for cattle to graze. Such a mesmerizing view and such a tireless journey it would be for this day as we slowly and gradually make our way toward Tarke Ghyang. If you do not know about Tarke Ghyang, it is the main village of the Helambu region and the village is famous for green apples and wood carving on furniture and other household products.

Another day another 6 hours to walk. Today, we make our way from Tarke Ghyang to Sermathang on the fifteenth day. As we begin the trail, the route descends to Melamchi Khola, continuing towards Melamche Gaon. In this village, the trekkers can experience the real traditional settlement as they will witness houses having beautifully carved wooden windows.

We stop by this village for lunch and again continue the walk. After about two to three hours of walking from Melamche Gaom, we finally reach the destination of the day, Sermathang. This is also another beautiful village. The place is the best lovely spot to get the most mesmerizing panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks of the Jugal Himalayan range in the east and Ganesh-Manaslu in the west.

From Sermathang or Tharepatti, the trail passes through agricultural fields, villages, and sparse forests. After a few hours of walking from Tharepatti, you arrive at Kutumsang village. This village is 2,470 meters above sea level and is home to the Sherpa and Tamang hill tribes. After this, the trail winds through villages, farm terraces, and ups and downs until it reaches PattiBhanjyang, where you can spend the night.

Melamchi Pool is the place from where the trekkers will be taken on a long drive to Kathmandu. This is the last day of us being in the trekking region. Therefore, we recommend trekkers carry all the necessary items and make sure that nothing is left behind in the hotel where they stayed. Within about 5 hours of driving in a tourist bus, we finally reached Kathmandu.

You can take your time to explore the nearby areas and enjoy your last day in Nepal as properly as possible. We will arrange a farewell dinner for the trekkers in the evening. Moreover, trekkers will also receive a certificate for the successful completion of the Panch Pokhari Jugal Himal Trek.

Finally, we are on the last day of the 18 18-day trek to Panch Pokhari and Jugal Himal. Our representatives will take you on a drive in a private vehicle from the hotel to the International Airport. Moreover, we bid farewell as you board the flight and return to your home.
