Overview

Himlung Himal (7126 m) lies in the Manaslu region, northeast of the Annapurna range and close to the Tibetan border. Since this area is an isolated and secluded area, you’ll be amazed to see yaks and mules to get goods across to your destination. The traditional Tibetan culture is prominent in the prayer flags along the way. It takes three camps to reach the final destination through the beautiful forests, rocky gorges, pristine Himlung Himal, and all its glory.

The journey to reach Himlung Himal has all the colors from the evergreen forests, to the calming rivers, to the traditional valleys, and right to the snowcapped mountain. There is high and low in its original matter here in Himlung, and because it isn’t as difficult as the Annapurna Expedition, it will surely give you a taste before you want to attempt climbing the Annapurna, or hoping into an Everest Expedition.

Himlung Himal was successfully ascended in 1992 by a Japanese team after the Ministry of Tourism opened it for climbing expeditions that year. This journey is quite remote, but its trip from the Phu River to the Phu Valley, as you trail up the

Marshyangdi River valley, stuns you with its Tibetan Buddhist culture and a well- rewarding view of Himlung Himal. Alpine Wonder Treks takes excellent care to ensure our clients make the most out of their trip.
