Nepal is home to some of the world’s highest mountains, with several peaks exceeding 8,000 meters in altitude. Among them, Mount Everest (8,848.86m) is the tallest mountain on Earth and a dream destination for climbers worldwide. Lhotse (8,516m), standing close to Everest, is the fourth highest peak and shares much of the same climbing route. Makalu (8,485m) is known for its sharp ridges and challenging ascent, while Kanchenjunga (8,586m), the third highest mountain, lies on Nepal’s eastern border, offering remote and difficult climbing routes.
Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna I (8,091m) are two of the most challenging peaks, with Annapurna having one of the highest fatality rates among 8,000-meter peaks. Manaslu (8,163m) is often considered a good training ground for Everest due to its high altitude and technical challenges.
